ActivePhaze is DJ/COMPOSER/PRODUCER project that launched in May 2005 in New York City. Max Semenov is the person behind this activity. Life-long music addict, vynil mostly DJ, moved to NYC in 2000 from Russia’s western point, Kaliningrad (a hip city surrounded by the EU:). In the late 90’s took my part as DJ A.Freakansky, one of the HOLYGUNZ TRIBE (www.holycorner.narod.ru), hard and minimal techno crew in Kaliningrad. Studying at «Scratch Academy» and continuously working in NYC with VJ VisualHornHonking (http://www.visualhh.com) as X.O.Team has opened many right opportunyties that resulted in spinning at NYC’s Hi-Tech media underground gatherings such as longtime-running «Eyewash» Mixed Media events (www.forwardmotiontheater.org), freespirited jam-maihem «SHARE» (www.share.dj/share/) as well as very special expierence with modern dance theater Urban Wash Dance Company (www.urbanwashdancecompany.org). The history of programming and composing started in 1997 as HolyGun and (later) L’Utopist alter egos, most works of whom are lost and forgotten...

Recent biggest gigs include ones @ New York city’s Museum of Modren Art (MoMA), legendary indie club «Knitting Factory» and Gershwin hotel’s trendy «Gallery», historical Hudson Opera house and «Spiegel Tent» travelling venue, Williamsburg’s well-known video avant — garde space «Monkey Town» and downtown Manhattan’s dance mecca «Sullivan Room»
